THE COLLECTIVE TAROT READ: PISCES SEASON 2025 (FEB 18 - MAR 20)

Things may seem a little too ambiguous for your liking right now, but it’s all forcing you to tune in and dive deeper. Is something in the way of what you need to feel? Well now’s the time to change that.

Pisces may know a thing or two about this predicament. The little fish with big dreams that feels it all.

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac that brings with it the knowledge and experiences of all of the other signs – emotions included. This mutable water sign offers us a heartfelt reminder before the start of something new. (Aries season, which coincides with spring and follows Pisces season, is the start of the astrological new year.)

In the tarot, The Moon card represents Pisces energy. If you pull The Moon you’re being invited to tap into the subconscious.

What are the dreams you’ve been having lately? Are they extra vivid right now? Are certain themes repetitive? Are you dreaming of people you haven’t seen in awhile, or maybe those who have passed on quite a long time ago?

What are the mysteries that are currently unfolding in your life?

The Moon is a reminder that something else lies below the surface of those midnight waters (water symbolizes your dreams, emotions and intuition in the tarot). You may not know everything you need to just yet, but the signs are there.

Contemplate. Observe. Intuit. But don’t absorb everything that comes your way this season.

This month, much is afoot in the cosmos  – and that’s putting it lightly. Venus went retrograde in Aries on March 1. Mercury goes retrograde on March 15, and somewhere in between we’ll experience a lunar eclipse (mark you calendars for March 14). At the end of the month (March 29), we’ll also experience a solar eclipse. Altogether, this is a sure recipe for (even more) intensity in our lives, and maybe some disorienting curve balls thrown our way.

One helpful lesson The Moon card provides: Be aware, but don’t panic. Even if things seem hazy, paranoia won’t help if you’re caught in a thick fog. If anything, you’ll need your other senses even more if your vision is impaired.

As shown below in the imagery of The Moon card, the animals are barking at the moon, instinctively aware that more is happening than what’s readily seen. But the mystery won’t be solved all in one night – or by howling away in anxiety.

There’s a beauty in knowing the moon holds some secrets. You’ll want to witness what’s unfolding. It may shape some new desires and light the way forward.

THE MOON + YOUR CLARIFYING CARD [Check Your Sun Sign Below]

The Subconscious | Dreams + Illusions | Mystery

Water Signs [Pisces + Cancer + Scorpio]

Ace of Wands: A passionate new beginning – well, the opportunity for one, anyway. These past couple of months have been a big time of opportunity for you. (Last month, you got the Ace of Pentacles as your clarifying card). Aces always signify a gift, but one we have to accept in order to reap its benefit or potential. What opportunities have you grabbed? Have you frozen up in the face of others? Is there some anxiety about what it might mean if you get the thing? If you’ve felt stalled creatively, or as it pertains to your career, passion projects or romantic life, you may be in for a nice jolt of inspiration. Seeing it flourish to it’s true potential may require an open mind - and doing things a little differently. Don’t be afraid to walk down new paths and follow your gut. (Happy Birthday, my Pisces loves!)

Fire Signs [Aries + Leo + Sagittarius]

The High Priestess: At first glance, you may be faced with an enigma. You can’t make heads or tails of the right way out, or it seems like things are too convoluted to safely navigate to a better place. If you take some down time to really sit with your intuition, you’ll realize there’s already a quiet knowing within you. What has your intuition been trying to tell you? Has it been trying to speak for awhile? Is it getting drowned out by louder external noises? The High Priestess card is all about a sense of knowing. In the reverse, it could be knowledge you sit quietly on, never taking action, if you’re not intentional. Time to tap into your inner wisdom and trust your instincts. When the smoke clears, you’ll see things plainly and give a knowing smile.

Earth Signs [Taurus + Virgo + Capricorn]

Eight of Cups: It’s like you’re seeing sign after sign this retrograde and eclipse season. The blinking lights may even seem incessant. Some things in your life just aren’t a fit anymore, and once you realize it, you can’t unsee it. The 8 of Cups is all about walking away from unfulfilling situations, as tough as it may be and despite the expectation you might have once held for them. There’s that one missing cup, and without it, the other eight seem empty. The figure in this tarot card walks off to journey further, and next finds the 9 of Cups – contentment and vindication. It’s not just what they found that gives them a sense of pride and happiness, but the fact that they had the courage to walk away for something better. Don’t settle for less. Trust that you’re worth it. And you’ll walk right into what’s aligned for you.

Air Signs [Gemini + Libra + Aquarius]

Queen of Swords: Air signs, this card is a reminder to do what comes innately. Swords represent communication, logic and mental acuity in the tarot - and the Queen of Swords is a boss at sharing her boundaries and being willing to cut off whatever doesn’t align with her needs and desires. Through the cosmic twists and turns of Pisces season, utilize your sharp mind and diplomacy to cut through any bullshit. You may even be the person others look to right now to make sense of a tumultuous time. Stand up for yourself, speak your truth, and you’ll be in an empowered position when it’s time to welcome spring. Get committed, or recommit, to your personal visions before the season of new beginnings.

PISCES SEASON JOURNAL PROMPTS

  1. Write about any recent dreams that stick out to you. Are there connecting narratives, overarching themes or repeating symbols? If you can’t remember your dreams, write them down, record a voice note, or marinate on your recent daydreams. What are they telling you?

  2. Look at the culmination of this (astrological) year. What were things like for you in Pisces season of last year, and what’s changed or remained the same? What do you want to bring with you into Aries season/spring vs. leave behind?

  1. What are you currently experiencing that’s setting off your intuitive bells? Write a list of adjectives that describe how this experience feels.

  2. Are any new desires surfacing in your life right now? Are others taking a clearer shape than before? Get specific about your desires - and what seems ambiguous vs. clear.

FOOL-PROOF DIRECTIONS

This season is about getting to the heart of the matter, not the quickest answer. Think of it this way. If you were to discover a hidden portal, the journey itself would be a thing of legend. The exploration is the magic. The process leads to breakthroughs.

YOUR SELF-CARE GUIDE

Look up where Pisces shows up in your birth chart. What does that planet(s) or placement signify?

One Pisces placement I have is Jupiter in Pisces, which very much explains this newsletter. Pisces is ruled by Neptune - the planet of dreams and spirituality - and Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion. With Pisces in Jupiter, the pursuit of spirituality (and an understanding of the intricacies and mysteries of life), brings a sense of fulfillment, personal growth and prosperity.

WHERE TO WANDER

Need some music for your journaling session? Or something to play as you ponder the state of the world – or maybe just your incredibly emo mood?

This month I’m recommending Nirvana, “Something in the Way.”

It feels right for this season, and all the feelings jam-packed into this short time frame. Kurt Cobain (RIP) was a Pisces himself.

There’s a lot of lore around this song. But what do you think it means? More importantly, what does it make you feel?
