THE COLLECTIVE TAROT READ: SAGITTARIUS SEASON 2025 (NOV 22 - DEC 21)
During the busy holiday season, who couldn’t use more balance?
Sagittarius energy is charm, travel, wit and intellectual expansion. Meanwhile, the tarot card representing this energy is the Temperance card: all about balance, harmony and things happening in the right timing. That’s no accident.
It’s the reminder that keeps us from burning out during that final push of the year. When there’s countless events and gatherings packed into shorter days, and the rhythm of life seems to quicken, even if our bodies crave otherwise.
As shown (below) in the Temperance tarot card: we need to keep one foot on solid ground (with rituals that keep us sane and rested) and the other in water (tapped into our emotions and intuition).
That devil-may-care Sag aura is made possible by the understanding that things will work out in due time — or simply as they will. Control is an illusion. But we can always live with passion and intention.
A Final New Moon, Then 2026.
It feels wild that we’ve arrived at the end of 2025 already. But before we welcome a new year, here are some tips for the New Moon in Sagittarius on Friday, December 19 - the last new moon of the year.
Remember, the astrological new year is actually in the spring (Aries season), but the end of the year, and winter generally, is a great season for introspection and reflecting on the past year, including what you want moving forward.
New moons bring the energy of fresh starts. With this new moon in Sagittarius, it’s an ideal time to think about where we’d like to see growth in our lives. Where can more learning or travel welcome change and expansion? How can we step into the luck that’s already prepared for us (Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion)? During this new moon - explore, initiate and play with all the possibilities within your life. And like a Sag, remember to bring fun into the equation. There’s some new moon journal prompts below to help inspire you.

TEMPERANCE + YOUR CLARIFYING CARD [Check Your Sun Sign Below]

BALANCE | DIVINE TIMING | MODERATION
Fire Signs [Sagittarius + Aries + Leo]
The Magician: Don’t second guess whether you can have the life you’re envisioning for yourself, plan how you’ll arrive there and how you can embody that energy now. The Magician card is a reminder that you already have all the pieces to the puzzle, while Temperance calls for balance and patience. Move forward knowing it doesn’t have to all come together at once. Baby steps!
Earth Signs [Capricorn + Taurus + Virgo]
Strength: Don’t crash out. Whatever’s testing your resolve is meant to deepen your confidence and self love. What are you being reminded to take care of this season? Is it your physical health, your mental wellness or something else that’s integral to your long-term happiness? Aim for balance through practices that ground you and calm your inner world. Whatever you need to confront will equip you for the future. Just lead from the heart and ask if you need support.
Air Signs [Aquarius + Gemini + Libra]
Nine of Swords: It’s going to work out in time, but in the interim: make sure you’re getting the rest your body and mind craves. Overthinking or replaying the situation in your head has it’s limits (as far as what can help you). Release what’s out of your control. That could look like allowing the tears to flow, putting your thoughts on the page, or speaking the affirmations that give you permission to surrender. Do your part then let it go. Take care of yourself.
Water Signs [Pisces + Cancer + Scorpio]
Four of Swords: As this year winds down, it’s time to chill out. You’ve got a lot you’re processing from the past several months. Some of it’s heavy, some of it’s inspiring — all of it’s needed before you begin your next chapter. The theme for you is restoration and introspection. “Get somewhere and sat down,” in the words of my grandma. What matters most is your peace and mental clarity, not rushing through the finish line.

NEW MOON JOURNAL PROMPTS
List out the areas of your life, or parts of your routine, that need a reset. Journal about how you’d like those areas/routines to look and feel next year.
Make a list of places you’d like to visit in 2026 - whether they are local to your area, involve day trips, or travel to other states or countries. The distance is not as important as why you’re drawn to these places. What do you hope to learn or take away from these experiences?
Do you feel lucky? When have you felt lucky in your life? If you were to think about luck as an energy you step into, what actions or practices would guide you there?
What seeds do you want to plant now that can grow or flourish in 2026?
YOUR SELF-CARE GUIDE
Sagittarius self-care asks you to water your mind and take those leaps of faith that expand your horizons.
What adventures, big or small, have you put off this year? How can you find a way to experience them now? How are you feeding your curiosity and knowledge of what’s possible?
Join that book club, or visit that bookstore or library — maybe the one that’s not in town. Pursue freedom and enlightenment in whatever ways you need this season.
